Marcantonio's innovative project for Natuzzi Italia was awarded in the Home Interior Products/Interior Furniture category.

 

Natuzzi Italia is among the winners of the European Product Design Award - 2021 edition, a global event created with the aim of highlighting and promoting the best design products. The Product Design Award recognizes the efforts of talented designers and design teams who aim to improve our daily lives with a practical and beautiful creation, designed to solve a problem, make life easier or simply spread joy. The prize rewards the strategic thinking and imagination which goes into making a great product.

The ePDA 2021 competition received hundreds of entries from all over the world with the most revolutionary and innovative design products offered in the various categories. Among the candidates, the Infinito sofa, designed by Marcantonio for Natuzzi Italia was awarded in the Home Interior Products/Interior Furniture category.

Infinito arose out of a seemingly impossible challenge. Namely, how to transfer all the iconic value of one of the most powerful symbols of the collective imagination into an object that for Natuzzi has an equally iconic value, the sofa. With its own strong visual identity, its soft generous shapes, its rounded curvy lines, its colourful flamboyant design, its exuberant looks, its Mediterranean style. This is where the real challenges began, with both a technical and structural challenge, and an aesthetic one. Challenges that brought out the best in our skilful craftsmen.

 

The EPDA award is a new recognition of the renewal process as a lifestyle brand that Natuzzi Italia has been carrying out in recent years. A piece that honors an extremely innovative project that perfectly reads the process of contamination of different design experiences and approaches that meet within the Circle of Harmony.
